Not long after, Nick appears again. In his pockets are the tools of his trade, and on his body his costume in all its glory. He makes his way to a large mansion on the edge of town, against a windswept cliff. The sea crashes against it, making a deafening roar below him, but Nick pays no heed. He places his hand on the locked door and whispers some quiet words. He feels the air around him rush into the lock, and then felt the door unlock. Satisfied, he enters. The building is silent and still. Almost like nobody was around. And that was almost correct - but not entirely. Feeling the magical energy pull him, Nick makes his way downstairs, into a dark basement. Not even bothering with a light, he follows his senses, which lead him to an old painting of an old man with gray shoulder-length hair glaring at no one in particular. He'd heard of the painting before. It apparently held the soul of an ancient Carpathian sorcerer. Worth noting, but not his goal as of now. Too large and not enough use. Maybe later. Pushing aside the painting, Nick found a wooden door behind it. He stepped through, and felt a change. He was no longer in this world. He looked around him. A middle-aged man was sitting at a desk, reading aloud from a tome. He listened and felt the words, understanding them. It was a long, drawn out summoning spell it sounded like. He spied different materials around the man, prepared and waiting for their part in the process. There were all sorts of magical bits and bobs in the room, but he only needed the book. As he entered the room, his target tensed, then slowly turned around, "And who are you?" The Magi raised his hands in a sign of submission, then removed the hood. It was a young native american with long black hair. He grinned, "My name is Nick Williams. May I assume that you're the master known as John Hilt?" The wizard nodded, "Indeed. Now tell me, why have you come?" Nick slowly lowered his hands, "I've been told that you have some information I've been seeking, and I was wondering if you could help provide it to me." "I could always see what I can do, Nick, but how about you come back in the morning? Forgive me, but with the recent robberies, I'm very distrusting of nighttime visitors." "Ah yes, of course," Nick said, "Many apologies," he turned towards the door, "Oh yes, sir?" "Yes?" "I think that I won't come back tomorrow," he turns and fires a bullet towards the other wizard. John yelps a little and drops from his stool, his hands beginning to glow red, in preparation for a spell. Another bullet was fired, but it was incinerated. Seconds later, Nick felt his gun begin to heat up, and he dropped it. Too hot. he looks at the other wizard, eyes wide, as the gun flies towards the older wizard. John chuckles, "Enchanted bullets. Clever, young man, but not clever enough." Suddenly he feels dizzy. The candles around him go out, diminished of oxygen, as the air flows towards Nick. John starts choking, willing for the air to come back, but air magic wasn't his strong suit. He tries to prepare another spell, but he feels a blast of wind hitting him, cutting him like a knife, and then again. The last thing he saw was a ball of white light, which zoomed towards him. Nick picked up the tome and grinned, "Perfect," he tucks it into his robe and replaces his hood. Time to go.

((Hm, I wonder where...)) Taking his prize under one arm, Nick walks through the rain and. Ack to his car. He tosses the book into the passengers seat - he'll read it when he's safe and at home. But he can never be too cautious out in the open like this.

Nick will move unopposed. Luke is busy, Bella is busy, and Moonchild is no where to be found, unless a thunder summoner shows up, he's scot free

He does. When stepping into the building, he turns left, walking into a long hallway. The lights were dim, and by the end almost completely gone. Finding a staircase, he went up it, traveling stories into the air, up to the top of the tower. It was a large one, at the center of the estate. He'd always enjoyed castles, and so when designing his mansion he based it off of them. At the top of the tower would be a door locked by arcane magic, and beyond his workshop. The Keep, he called it, where most of his experiments and studying took place. In the center of the room was an enchanted pedestal, upon which he placed the book before backing up. Saying some words under his breath, the book flew open, revealing a towering being of fire. A creature, set to guard the tome. Of course. Nick sucked the air away from the thing, causing the fire to weaken almost immediately, and the being to collapse. Nick walks forward, his knife in hand. It began to glow as he approached the elemental beast, "With this knife, I cut you, freeing you from the coils of this existence," he sliced the thing's head, "May you return to the place from whence you came, in peace," he raised the dagger in the air, "Til I must call upon thee," he pierced the creature's forehead and it disappeared. Satisfied, he began reading the book.
